Mr. Albert
Market General
546 Lane Drive
Greeley, CO 80364

Dear Mr. Albert

I am very interested in discussing the cashier position at Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffee and Smoothie as advertized in the Greeley Tribune.   As a student at Roosevelt High School, I completed a word processing class that provides me with excellent computer skills.  I was also involved in Show Choir for 2 years. I have gained many skills that will assist me as I learn the specifics of working in your particular area.
I worked at Odell’s Super Market. The skills that I have are: I worked as a cashier, provided information over the phone, provided professional service to clients , worked many hours throughout the day, and I am bilingual. I have gained a broad background of life. I do enjoy working with people. I learned to be a leader and explain things to my fellow co-workers.  I won’t give up until they all know the material and understand it.
In addition to my employment, I also continue to volunteer for community service. I helped clean houses and mow lawns around my neighborhood. I picked weeds for my neighbor’s garden, and would take their dogs on walks. I have performed in a show for the little kids at Letford.  It was the most rewarding experience at this point in my life. I love children, and watching them enjoys life and our show.
After graduation I hope to become successful. I am very committed to this goal as is evident by my records of academic accomplishments and community service.  I look forward to sitting down and discussing this position with you.  I am very eager to be a part of your team. Please contact me at (720)364-4423.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,

Nereida Machado

Hope

There are many people in the world that live life to the fullest. Some people have different meaning of the word Hope. Keep your head up when life gets tough, dont give up. I love to live life with the word hope, because I hope for better days to come my way, and I know at the end of the day everything is going to be ok.
The definition of “Hope” is the feeling that what is wanted can be hard or that events will turn out for the best. The verb meaning of this word is; to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence. The verb form used with an object is to believe, desire, and to trust. Many people have different explanations or definitions of the word “Hope”. Some people also look at the for there life story. Hope evolves and explains how they live with hope. My life sometimes revolves around the word of Hope. I have been through so much in my life over the past 19 years of my life. And example of the word hope is a real life story.
When I was a little girl my grandpa was very sick and had to spend a lot of time is the doctors office. He didnt know why he was getting sick so much, because in the mornings he would feel fine, but when it came close to his bed time he would feel really sick, and he would even throw up at night. My family lived with my grandpa because we knew he wasnt feeling good, so thats why we wanted to watch over him all the time. My mom felt that we should get home schooled because when my mom was working, she wanted to have us at home so we could watch over him. She didnt want my grandpa to be left alone, because at some point in his sickness he could barley walk and we had to help him a lot. We all knew that this would affect the whole family in some way, because we wouldnt be able to do the things we did before, and that scared his grandkids.   His sickness didnt really hit him as much, but when I turned 13 his sickness started getting worse and worse. I felt that now that my grandpa was sick that he wouldnt be able to be there for me when I grow up. I wanted my grandpa with me when I graduate high school, go to college, graduate from college, get married, and have kids. My grandpa was my best friend and we would always hope and pray that we would be together for the rest of our lives, but we all know that he wasnt going to live that long, and that made me feel really bad, and depressed, because I wasnt going to have my best friend around to watch me succeed in life. Weeks passed and passed when he then had to go to the hospital about 3 or 4 times a week. After knowing that, we knew this was serious. A few months passed and he had a heart attack while he was working on his farm. We rushed him to the hospital. The doctors told us the news of the heart attack, and even told us why he has been getting really sick lately. He had diabetes. We didnt know he had diabetes. This was all very horrible new for the whole family.
Weeks and months passed by and he was still in the hospital. Or whole family members realized that he wasnt going to be out soon, so some of his family stayed at the hospital. They had that whole side for his family because he had a lot of family members, but not all of them could be there. The experience of staying in the hospital was not good. The food was gross, but at night I would hope and pray that my grandpa would be ok, and that he would be able to come home soon, too be with his family. Later, he had got very sick, to where he was on his death bed. The doctors didnt let the family members see him because his condition was fatal. The doctors then told us that they have to amputate his leg. We all started to crying because we knew this would be the last time we would be able too see my grandpa again. He only had a couple weeks to live, that all of his grandchildren wrote him letters, and poems. I wrote a poem about praying and hoping. This poem meant a lot to me because every night and day I would pray so much and would hope that my grandpa would be ok. We all wished that my grandpa didnt have to go through this.  Most of the grandkids couldnt read them out loud to him because they all started crying, because they couldnt stand to see him on his death bed. A month later we got the news that he was talking and opening his eyes. We all hoped and prayed that he would be alright, and thats when the word hope came out to me. Hope can get you in life and get you where you want to be in life.
Even though we hoped and prayed for him every day, it didnt help as much as we wanted it too. He later passed away two weeks later. The thing that surprised the whole family and me was that the doctors told him and our family that he only had a couple weeks to live. He ended up living for about a month and a couple weeks longer.  We believed in the word hope, and if you do too it can bring you joy in life in any way you want it too.

Essay

                                    College Essay

My family has high expectations for me to go to college. I have to say that I agree with them. My future plans that I want to achieve is going to college and getting my Dentistry degree. When I was little I always dreamed of helping others. I always dreamed of helping others. I always helped my mom out, and the community. I have learned a lot from helping around in the community. My future plans are to help everybody around me.
I plan on attending Wisconsin University or CU in boulder, but I’m not to sure yet. I have worked very hard in all that I do. I love to learn and I love to have a healthy learning area. I really want to achieve my goals in going to college. My parents and my family would be really proud of me just because of the fact that ill is the first person to go to college in my family and that would make me look really good. Some of my other family members went to college but they told me that I was too hard for them and that they couldn’t do it. I don’t want to be a quitter and just drop out.
There are so many things that I still have to do and accomplish before I can make it into college. Some people say that college is hard, well yeah college is hard, and it’s not like high school. I really want to get my Dentistry Degree and help people out. When I was little I would always play doctor with my little sister and that made me realize that I really wanted to be a dentist. I’m also looking into Message Therapy. This is recent that I’m looking into this career. I have read about message therapy and what I would have to do to accomplish these goals in being a message therapist.
No matter what career I do I just really want to make my parents proud and to show them that I’m serious about college and that college is no game, and that it takes money, time, and effort to get into college and no matter how hard it is im going to achieve my goals and accomplish my dreams in helping people out in my near future.
